About
One-to-one maths tutoring for KS3 to A-level — online across the UK, and in person from Tooting Bec in South West London.
Background
I’m Joshua Edwards, a Maths Masters (MMath) graduate, University of Nottingham. I work as a software developer and tutor mathematics in my free time. The class of 2025/2026 will be my sixth consecutive year of one-to-one tutoring.
I’ve taught KS3, GCSE and A-level maths — and some university-level topics — with a strong record of grade improvements when students are willing to put the work in.
Where I tutor
I’m based in Tooting Bec, South West London. I offer in-person lessons locally and in nearby areas including Tooting, Balham, Streatham, Clapham, Wandsworth, Colliers Wood, Mitcham and Earlsfield.
Short, honest notes on each place are on the South West London areas page.
I also tutor fully online for students anywhere in the UK — the same one-to-one approach, without the travel.
Approach
In my experience it’s rarely pure mathematical ability holding students back — it’s more often confidence, gaps from earlier years, or exam technique.
I adapt the pace and style to each student: we start from schoolwork and areas of confusion, then build towards past papers so exam-style questions become familiar rather than frightening.
The goal is clear understanding, steadier confidence, and results that match the effort put in — and preferably exceed what felt possible at the start.
Subjects
I tutor KS3, GCSE and A-level maths. Start on the tutoring page to choose a level, or jump straight to KS3, GCSE, or A-level.
